After the disappointment of transfer deadline day, Liverpool have finally received some good news: major summer signing Bradley Barcola has been confirmed fit after recovering from injury and can feature in tomorrow night's Premier League match against Ipswich.

Head coach Iraola confirmed before the match that the 24-year-old French winger is expected to make his competitive Liverpool debut at Portman Road. Speaking about the signing, Iraola could not hide his delight: "We are very happy to sign Bradley. Bringing in a top player in that position was our priority. I like that he was very eager to join Liverpool. He has arrived with the desire to help the team, has already taken part in training, and can play tomorrow."

Midfield signing falls through, Reds' hidden problem remains

This positive news comes after a turbulent conclusion to Liverpool's 2026 summer transfer window. Barcola's arrival adds more firepower to the Reds' attack, but supporters are disappointed that the club failed to sign a midfielder before the deadline. After agreeing to sell Curtis Jones to Inter Milan and missing out on the pursuit of Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, Liverpool enter the autumn schedule with almost no margin for injuries or suspensions in midfield.

Barcola's inclusion provides Iraola's frontline with immediate quality and energy. The winger came through Lyon's renowned academy system, broke out during the 2022/23 season, and eventually joined Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023 for a fee of €45 million (£38 million). During his three seasons in the French capital, the attack-minded player who excels at breaking defensive lines established himself as a key figure in PSG's attack, winning three consecutive Ligue 1 titles with the team and playing an important role in their Champions League triumphs in 2025 and 2026.

Midfield concerns remain, while the new wide player becomes the only consolation

Although Anfield supporters' concerns over the midfield issue continue, Barcola's availability gives Iraola a much-needed boost after the team failed to win at the start of this domestic league season.
