Official: Valencia Forward Alberto Marí Joins Budapest Honvéd as a Free Agent, Signs Two-Year Deal

On September 4, official news confirmed that Hungarian club Budapest Honvéd have signed Spanish forward Alberto Marí, with the two sides agreeing to a two-year contract.

The 25-year-old Alberto Marí is 1.83 meters tall and plays as a center forward. He previously played for La Liga side Valencia. After his contract expired, he joined Honvéd as a free agent.

Marí previously made 25 appearances for Valencia's first team. In the 2022-23 season, Valencia were deeply involved in a relegation battle. In their match against Celta, Marí scored a crucial late goal, helping the team essentially secure their place in La Liga.

After leaving Valencia, Marí played for Zaragoza and was most recently loaned to Mirandés. In Spain's Segunda División, he made a total of 46 appearances.

Honvéd stated that Marí's speed and technical ability will further enrich the team's tactical options in attack.

After joining, Marí said: "I came to this club with a great deal of anticipation. It has a long and proud history. I am very much looking forward to helping my teammates and achieving important goals together with the team. Of course, I have heard of Honvéd and Puskás, and in recent years I have also seen Hungarian teams appear on the international stage."
