Mac Allister: We have not defended well enough before, hopefully today will be our day

Before Liverpool's away match against Ipswich Town in the third round of the Premier League, Liverpool midfielder Mac Allister was interviewed by Sky Sports in the stadium tunnel.

But I can see that the team has improved in the way we want to play and in the style of football that Andoni (Iraola) wants us to adopt, so hopefully we can show that today. What is the first requirement Andoni has put forward for your team?

First of all, it is about running more, but of course there are also many tactical requirements, such as trying to play directly and working hard to create chances. That is what we want. At the end of the day, football is about scoring goals, about finding the back of the net, while also defending well. I think our defending has not been good enough in the past few matches, but hopefully today will be our day.

There have been many new faces in the squad, and another new signing has arrived with a transfer fee of £100 million. Do everyone need to remain patient? This Liverpool team and this group clearly still have more potential to show, right?
