The 41-year-old Filipe took over Monaco this summer and has led the team to five wins in five matches, including a 3-2 away victory and a 4-1 home victory over Górnik Zabrze in the UEFA Conference League qualifying playoffs, as well as league wins away against Le Havre 1-0, at home against Marseille 2-0, and away against Paris Saint-Germain 2-1.

Filipe ended his playing career at Flamengo in 2023, then began coaching from the club's youth team. In 2024, he took charge of Flamengo's first team and led the side for two years, winning one Copa Libertadores title, one Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title, one Copa do Brasil title, one Brazilian Super Cup title, and one Campeonato Carioca title.
