Tottenham have suffered another injury setback. Manager De Zerbi confirmed at the pre-match press conference that James Maddison will miss the Premier League match against Nottingham Forest and is expected to remain sidelined for another two weeks.
Maddison suffered a shoulder injury after an awkward landing in the opening league match of the season against Brentford. The 29-year-old creative midfielder had only recently recovered from a serious cruciate ligament tear, which caused him to miss most of last season, making this new injury a major disappointment for both the player and the club.

De Zerbi: Maddison needs another two weeks to recover
De Zerbi made it clear at the pre-match press conference that he would not risk bringing Maddison back too early. He stressed that rushing the midfield core back would create unnecessary risks.
"I don't think so, because two days after the problem in the Brentford game, plus another two weeks out, now is not the right moment." De Zerbi explained his decision this way. The Italian coach has taken an extremely cautious approach with the team's creative centerpiece, insisting that Maddison must fully pass medical checks before returning to action.
Savinho returns from injury, providing a boost for Tottenham's attack
Although Maddison's absence is frustrating, Tottenham have received positive news in attack: summer signing Savinho has returned to full training.
The 22-year-old Brazilian winger joined North London from Manchester City and previously missed the match against Newcastle due to minor muscle fatigue.
When asked about Savinho's injury situation and whether he could play in the next match, De Zerbi gave a brief response: "Savinho is back, yes." After a full week of training with the team, the attacker known for his pace and dribbling ability is expected to receive significant playing time against Nottingham Forest.
Squad test amid injury problems
Maddison's continued absence means Tottenham will still have to rely on their current players to take on more responsibility in midfield organization and creativity. Meanwhile, Savinho's return adds much-needed speed and attacking impact on the wing. With one player missing and another returning, De Zerbi needs to find a balance in his team selection.
For Tottenham, who are aiming to take points away from home, Savinho's recovery is a positive sign. However, Maddison's recurring injury issues remain a persistent concern for the club this season.
