Enzo Joins Manchester City for £125 Million, Chelsea Fail to Reinforce Midfield Position

With the Premier League summer transfer window closed, the biggest deal on deadline day was undoubtedly Enzo Fernandez's £125 million transfer from Chelsea to Manchester City.

Regardless of opinions about Enzo, he remains an excellent player, and Chelsea will be hurt by losing him. He is not Rodri's replacement because he is not a defensive midfielder—I believe he is a No. 8 player, or someone who operates further forward, capable of making forward runs and scoring goals.

Manchester City's squad depth has improved.

Manchester City have also signed Ayoub Bouaddi, who is an outstanding young player. We also know Elliott Anderson's ability in midfield. This gives Manchester City a very strong squad, especially considering they will use Rayan Cherki or Phil Foden in the No. 10 role. Competition for places within the team is intense, and how Enzo Maresca arranges his lineup will be well worth watching.
