The Red Devils were closely linked with Page before the summer transfer window closed, but they ultimately failed to complete the deal in time.

However, the latest report from the Manchester Evening News states that Manchester United are still attempting to sign the 18-year-old player and remain confident about the move.

Previously, journalist Ben Jacobs also mentioned that Arsenal could become a competitor for Manchester United in the race for Page. Jacobs posted on X on deadline day: "Breaking: Manchester United are still working on a deal for Leicester City's Louis Page. Talks are ongoing, but time is tight. Arsenal are another club monitoring the Leicester City youngster. Leicester City will also host Plymouth tonight, which adds another layer of complexity."

Page has made 22 appearances for Leicester City and has been selected for the England youth teams multiple times, so it is not surprising that he has attracted interest from bigger clubs.

Manchester United have frequently overspent in the transfer market in recent years, but focusing on this type of recruitment in the near future could help them acquire top talent at a lower cost.

Players like Page appear to have the potential to establish themselves at Old Trafford. Even if a move does not succeed, his value could still increase within the Manchester United squad, creating the possibility of future profit through a sale.
