According to Foot Mercato, the consortium involving Pato has been approved to acquire a majority stake in Northampton Town.

The 36-year-old Pato previously played for AC Milan and Chelsea and is currently a member of the consortium backed by Sports Alpha Capital. The consortium hopes to acquire a majority stake in English club Northampton Town, which currently competes in League Two. The club's official website announced that the investment has been approved by the independent football regulator and the English Football League.
Pato retired in 2023. He was previously a Brazil international and is also one of the investors in the project, with Gemcorp Capital also involved. During his time at AC Milan, Pato made 150 appearances and scored 63 goals, winning the Serie A title with the team in 2011. Northampton chairman Kelvin Thomas welcomed the regulatory approval, which paves the way for the consortium to take a stake in the club.
