After former Inter sporting director Ausilio left the club, fans displayed a banner thanking him during the match against Napoli.
After 28 years at Inter, Ausilio and the club parted ways. The former sporting director was one of the key figures during Inter's current successful period. Ausilio thanked everyone through the club's official website, especially expressing his gratitude to the fans. He said: "Inter Milan has become part of my blood; it is the air I breathe every day."
Ausilio also said: "My deepest and most sincere thanks go to you, to the fans. You are the beating soul of this shirt, accompanying and supporting me throughout this long journey." During Inter Milan's match against Napoli, the stands displayed a banner for the club executive that read: "Thank you, Ausilio."
