Dortmund Official: Champions League Home Match Against Villarreal Still Has Tickets Available, Fans Can Buy Up to 10 Tickets

According to Borussia Dortmund's official announcement, tickets are still available for the Champions League home match against Villarreal, and fans can purchase up to 10 tickets.

The start of the new season is promising. Next Tuesday, the Champions League will host this season's first home Champions League match at Signal Iduna Park. Temperatures on match day are expected to be around 19 degrees Celsius, with conditions mainly sunny to partly cloudy.

Starting from the 2022/23 season, UEFA began testing the removal of the standing-area ban in European competitions, which had been in place for 24 years, at some stadiums. Since then, Champions League home matches at Signal Iduna Park have been able to accommodate 81,365 spectators, and the same applies to Bundesliga and German Cup matches. The standing-area opening policy implemented from the 2022/23 season has been extended through the 2026/27 season.

However, among around 55,000 season ticket holders, only about two-thirds still have the so-called "international option." If the standing-area ban is reinstated, the stadium capacity would be limited to 66,099 seats as in the past. For this reason, the number of single-match tickets available for the home game against Villarreal is approximately twice that of Bundesliga home matches. Preparation time for the match was also very short, with the schedule only being finalized one week ago.
