Barcelona fail to complete squad clear-out as Balde remains with reduced playing opportunities

With the European summer transfer window now closed, La Liga giants Barcelona did not achieve the desired results in their squad clear-out efforts, with some surplus players remaining at the club. Among those considered possible departures, left-back Balde remains part of Barcelona's squad.

Previously, Barcelona intended to sell Balde and signaled at the start of the season that they would welcome transfer offers. However, reports said the club did not actively advance the process, only beginning to search for a new destination for Balde around the final ten days before the market closed, when time was already limited.

In an effort to facilitate Balde's transfer, Barcelona held several rounds of talks late in the window. They first discussed a player-swap deal with Inter Milan, attempting to bring in Dimarco while sending Balde away, but no agreement was reached. Barcelona then communicated with Manchester United, but that move also failed, leaving Balde at the club.

According to reports, although Barcelona head coach Flick appreciates Balde's individual ability, he is also concerned about some issues, including a lack of concentration during matches and shortcomings in tactical discipline. Therefore, reports claimed that Flick privately suggested that the club consider selling Balde.

In contrast to the attitudes of the club and coaching staff, Balde himself has shown a desire to remain at Camp Nou. Despite knowing that he may not be part of the team's current tactical plans, he still hopes to prove his value through future matches and rejected the possibility of leaving. Due to the club's slow actions, difficulties in the transfer market and the player's wish to stay, Balde ultimately remained.

After the new La Liga season began, Balde's playing time decreased significantly, and he did not receive a single minute of action in the first three league matches. Reports said his chances of playing are currently limited, with opportunities likely only arising in special situations such as injuries or suspensions among teammates.

In addition, Balde's contract with Barcelona runs until 2028. The long-term deal means the club must continue covering related salary costs even if his playing time is limited, creating additional pressure for Barcelona's transfer planning and finances.
