Official: Arsenal forward Martinelli joins Al Hilal, reportedly for a €70 million transfer fee

In the early hours of September 4 Beijing time, Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal officially announced that 25-year-old Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has joined the club, with both sides signing a four-year contract. It is reported that Martinelli's transfer fee has reached €70 million, setting a record for an Arsenal player sale.

According to a report by The Athletic's renowned journalist David Ornstein, the transfer fee for Martinelli's move from Arsenal to Al Hilal has reached €70 million. Al Hilal's fee for signing Martinelli is a fixed amount and does not include any add-on clauses.

After joining Al Hilal, Martinelli will wear the club's No. 7 shirt.

Martinelli joined Arsenal from Brazilian club Ituano in July 2019 for a transfer fee of €7.1 million. During his seven years at Arsenal, Martinelli made 278 appearances for the club, scoring 62 goals and providing 36 assists. He helped the Gunners win the 2025/26 Premier League title, as well as one FA Cup and one Community Shield.
