Sassuolo midfielder Luca Lipani said at a press conference after his team's 2-2 draw with Bologna that he dreams of being selected for the Italy national team again.

Speaking about his Italy national team debut in early June 2026, Lipani said: "Maybe I won't necessarily be able to return, but I can't set limits for myself. I dream of returning to the national team, and I will work hard for it."
Speaking about the areas where he still needs to improve, Lipani said: "There are many. I am 21 years old and need to continue improving in matches and defensively. I am working on this with the coach. In Italy, after a poor performance, people often immediately dismiss you; when you play well, they turn you into a talent. External evaluations of players at this age rarely remain balanced, but I am calm and I know the path I need to take."
