"I have had a good week," he said after making his debut in the 1-0 win over Coventry. "There was no anxiety and no panic. I have always believed in letting things happen naturally, that fate is predetermined and everything has a plan. I just stayed patient, and when Manchester City's offer arrived, I was overjoyed."

"I think this is where I belong. I have worked very hard to get to this point. When I spoke with my wife, I said that if I were to leave Everton, my next club had to be one that could allow me to play in the Champions League."

"For me, Manchester City has always been the first choice. I want to compete in the Champions League and play for one of the best teams in the world. I am not saying Tottenham are not good, but when Manchester City extends an invitation to you, nobody would refuse. This week has been perfect for me, and today's victory put the perfect finishing touch on it."
