In the first round of the Champions League league phase, Real Madrid will host Inter Milan, with Mourinho set to make his first Champions League appearance since returning to Real Madrid.
According to statistics, between 2010 and 2013, Mourinho led Real Madrid in 36 Champions League matches, winning 24 of them (a win rate of 66.7%). Among the managers in Real Madrid's history who have coached at least 10 Champions League matches for the club, only Ancelotti has a higher win rate (68.8%).
In addition, Real Madrid scored in 35 of those 36 Champions League matches, a rate of 97%, which is the best record among coaches who have managed a team in more than 20 Champions League matches.
The only Champions League match in which Real Madrid failed to score was the first leg of the 2010-11 season semi-final, when Real Madrid lost 0-2 at home to Barcelona.
