La Liga's Best Manager for August has officially been announced, with Alaves head coach Flores ultimately winning the award. In the citation for the award, La Liga officially confirmed that Flores defeated Barcelona manager Flick and Real Madrid manager Mourinho.

Flores' record in charge during the first four rounds of the new season has indeed been impressive. In August's three matches, Alaves defeated Getafe 3-0, drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano, and defeated Villarreal 1-0. After entering September, Flores then led the team to a 5-2 victory over Osasuna. So far, Alaves have recorded 3 wins and 1 draw in 4 matches, ranking second in the table, behind only Barcelona. They are also the only unbeaten team in La Liga besides Barcelona.

Flores briefly coached Shanghai Shenhua during the 2019 season. After leaving the club midway through the campaign, he returned to Europe and went on to manage Watford, Getafe and Sevilla. In March this year, Flores replaced Koudelka as Alaves head coach. As a 'firefighter coach', 'Flower Coach' ultimately helped Alaves successfully complete their relegation battle.
