According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has launched a new campaign to promote the Catalan language. The club and the Barça Foundation have released videos starring men's and women's first-team players, introducing the players' relationship with the language and its importance in daily life. The campaign slogan is “Parla blaugrana, parla català”.

The campaign aims to reaffirm that Catalan is one of the important elements of Barcelona's identity, while also highlighting the language's role in promoting integration and social cohesion. Bernal, Cubarsí, Fermín López, Kika Nazareth, Clara Serrajordi and Marta Torrejón participated in the filming.

The videos show how Barcelona's different teams use Catalan. Players developed through La Masia are a key focus, while players from other regions who gradually learned the language while adapting to the club and Catalonia also appear in the videos.

Fermín López said he began learning Catalan when he arrived at La Masia at the age of 13. He believes that mastering the language is also a way to integrate locally and encouraged people who come from other places to make an effort to learn it. Women's player Kika Nazareth said Catalan has helped her adapt better to Barcelona and Barça, and that she is still continuing to learn the language.

The campaign also emphasizes the role of Catalan players in helping teammates become familiar with the language. Cubarsí is one example, with some teammates joking that he is like a teacher in the dressing room. Marta Torrejón said there is an environment where multiple languages coexist in the dressing room, and that she values this diversity. The captain also mentioned that foreign players are increasingly able to understand Catalan, although they still find it difficult to speak it.

The campaign also includes a challenge to guess less common Catalan words, such as “galifardeu”. Bernal joked that Szczęsny sometimes uses Catalan words that nobody knows where he learned them from. Barcelona hopes to further promote Catalan through this campaign, making it a communication link in a diverse dressing room.
