Mundo Deportivo: Barcelona's operating revenue reached €1.06 billion last season, with total losses of €18 million

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona announced its 2025-26 financial accounts on Monday. The club's ordinary operations generated a profit of €200,000, but after special items were included, the total loss reached €18 million. Its operating revenue reached €1.06 billion, slightly below the expected €1.075 billion, but higher than the previous season's €994 million.

Revenue growth came from several factors. For example, ticketing, VIP and museum income increased by €50 million. This was helped by the team's return to Spotify Camp Nou, although Barcelona also had to play several matches at the Johan Cruyff Stadium and Montjuïc. Television and media revenue decreased by €4 million because Flick's team reached the Champions League semi-finals two years ago, while last season they were eliminated in the quarter-finals. Sponsorship revenue reached €265 million, while BLM revenue reached €208 million, an increase of €40 million compared with the previous financial year. Transfer revenue also reached €43 million, coming from the departures of players including Dero, Pau Víctor, Fati, Trincão and Bielihli.

Expenses increased from €964 million to €1.022 billion. The most notable rise came in total sporting wages, which increased from €534 million to €571 million, a 7% rise, due to the completion of some first-team renewals. After the financial result stood at -€37 million, special operating items eventually recorded a surplus of €200,000. However, the final overall account still showed a loss of €18 million, mainly due to the impact of a special operation.

Barça Studios, once regarded as a source of financial leverage, is still weighing on the club, although its impact is becoming smaller. As it did last season, the board decided to write down the value of Barça Produccions again. The special expense recorded before tax was -€23 million, reducing the company's total value to €116 million, with the club's shareholding valued at €73 million. Because some investors failed to make payments on time, Barcelona increased its ownership stake from 53.4% to 63.14%. The club stated that if a certain transfer had been completed before June 30, the €18 million loss could have been offset, but they chose not to do so.

Regarding this season's budget, the club expects revenue of €1.195 billion and a profit of €1 million. Stadium revenue is expected to increase by €60 million, commercial and sponsorship revenue by €50 million, and transfer revenue is projected at €74 million. The club explained that most of this revenue had already been achieved this summer.

Expenses are projected at €1.133 billion, with the most significant increase coming from sporting wages, which will rise from €571 million to €636 million. This is related to first-team signings and renewals, as well as an increased budget for the basketball section.
