After Lazio came from behind to beat Udinese 2-1 away in the third round of Serie A, Lazio head coach Gennaro Gattuso accepted an interview with the club's official channel. Lazio completed the comeback with goals from Frattesi and Gudmundsson, and have won all three matches at the start of the new season.

Gattuso: AC Milan Was Once My Dream, but Now I Support Lazio

Gattuso said: “This victory showed that the team has very strong mental qualities. If I had to find something to criticize, it would be that our concentration was not enough. After going 1-0 down, we became a little loose at one point and almost conceded a second goal. We made some basic mistakes, but the team's fighting spirit was very strong. Everyone wanted to win the match at all costs.”

“This is the secret of this team. We must always maintain a high intensity. Our problems are not over yet. We cannot forget the setbacks we experienced three weeks ago just because we have achieved several victories. We have to take things one match at a time.”

Speaking about the next home match against AC Milan, Gattuso said: “The Olympic Stadium will be full of Milan fans on Saturday. To be honest, I am grateful. AC Milan was once my dream. But now I am doing a different job, and I hope to bring points home. The past has been written into history, but now I support Lazio. I will do everything I can to help the team get points.”

Regarding the team's tactics and personnel arrangements, Gattuso said that the formation is not the most important thing: “Today Albert played as an attacking midfielder, and later moved forward more often to create threats. All the substitutions helped us. Even at 1-2 down, we were still able to maintain our shape well. We cannot become hesitant.”

“Many people in the team have put in a lot of effort, and they must be praised. All of us have to do our jobs well, including me and the medical team. This team has quality, although we can continue to improve. Today, I was more satisfied with the team's performance in possession and passing.”
