Lescott: Liverpool May Not Be Carvajal's Only Option

According to Diario Sport, Lescott revealed that Carvajal could negotiate with Liverpool, but Liverpool may not be Carvajal's only option.

Daniel Carvajal ended his career at Real Madrid after his contract with the club expired. He spent 13 seasons at Real Madrid and won numerous honours, including six Champions League titles. Although Carvajal has struggled with injuries in recent seasons and is now 34 years old, it was initially believed that the right-back would have little difficulty finding a new club. Several months have passed, and Carvajal has still not signed with any team.

In recent hours, there have been reports that Carvajal could move to the Premier League. Former England international Lescott revealed that Carvajal has already begun talks with an English top club.

Carvajal has been without a club since June 30. With Conor Bradley suffering a serious knee injury and expected to be out until the end of the year, Liverpool could open the door for Carvajal. With limited options at right-back, Iraola had also previously placed Ronald Araujo, who had just joined from Barcelona, in that position.

Regarding the possibility of Carvajal joining Liverpool, Lescott, who previously played for Everton, Manchester City and Aston Villa, said in an interview with TNT Sports: “I think what we're talking about now is Liverpool, Carvajal and a right-back. So yes, I would say Liverpool.”

However, if the deal is completed, Liverpool would have to wait until the January transfer window next year to register Carvajal, because the team currently has 25 players and its foreign player quota is already full.

Liverpool may not be Carvajal's only option. There has also been speculation that he could return to Leganes with his former teammate and friend Alvaro Morata, but the sporting director of the Segunda Division club appears to have ruled out that possibility. The official said: “You have raised the bar too high. It seems that we signed Alvaro a few weeks ago and completed his presentation on Friday. Since Saturday and Sunday, everyone has been telling me the same thing. At this point, I believe our squad is already settled.”
