September 8: Gordon Records Four Assists in His First Four La Liga Matches, Only Fabregas and Suarez Have Done It This Century

Gordon had only two assists in 26 Premier League appearances last season, but after joining Barcelona he immediately produced four assists in four matches. His four-assist tally in his first four La Liga games makes him the third player this century to reach the mark alongside Fabregas and Suarez. The cross against Rayo Vallecano that caused an own goal was credited as an assist by WhoScored, and La Liga's technical data also recognized it. Therefore the four-assist figure excludes own goals but includes involvement in five goals.

After the final whistle against Valencia on September 6, Gordon exchanged a high-five with Fermin on the sideline. Fermin pointed at him and smiled, while Gordon pointed upward, with no goal celebration because he had not scored.
