After the conclusion of Serie A's third-round matches on Monday evening, September 7, the Serie A league announced the disciplinary committee's decisions. Bologna head coach Tedesco was suspended for 2 matches because, after being sent off in the 49th minute of the second half, he directed extremely disrespectful remarks at the match referee and continued the behavior in the dressing room after the match. The fourth official recorded the violation.

Bologna president Saputo was also punished and will be banned until September 30. The reason for the punishment was that he made highly offensive remarks toward the referee on the pitch after the match and continued the behavior in the corridor leading to the dressing room.
