Costacurta: Milan are playing poorly but have a good attitude, I strongly believe in Amorim

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, former Milan defender Costacurta said that he has confidence in Amorim's work as Milan's head coach.

Costacurta said: “Amorim said the team did not deserve to beat Juventus? I agree with him. That match indeed did not meet expectations. But honestly, I still remain confident: I have seen some things. I have seen that they are trying to become different and want to get out of the deadlock of the past two or three years. The first thing you can see is from the attitude of the head coach: he is full of positive energy. I like the way he talks with the team and with the outside world, including with us. I like him as a person. I have studied him: I watched the matches when he coached Sporting CP. Whether it was at home against Benfica or away against Porto, he was always like this.”

He added: “I have played football for 40 years. I remember, and I also want to remind Milan fans, what the first three months after Sacchi became coach were like. It takes time to absorb such a major change. At Milan, I have seen typical problems during team building. A team can play poorly in terms of performance, but have a good attitude. I do not only look at individual players and technical performances, but at the performance of the whole team: all 11 players are running and fighting. Maybe, like two days ago, all 11 players can also make mistakes. However, I really like seeing them trying to follow the requirements. From here, they will only continue to raise their level.”
