According to Mundo Deportivo, Pique looked back on his career in an interview with Barcelona and said his family was the key to his success and maintaining his connection with the club.

On November 5, 2022, Pique played his final match for Barcelona and in his professional career against Almeria at Spotify Camp Nou. He announced his retirement midway through the season, surprising most Barcelona fans.
Pique had previously announced his retirement through a video posted on social media. He said: "Barcelona fans have given me everything. The dream of that child has now come true, and I want to tell everyone that it is time to bring this journey to an end. I have always said that I would not play for another team after leaving Barcelona, and that will be the case."
When Pique made his 600th appearance for Barcelona, the club interviewed him at the Barcelona Museum, asking him to look back on his career and its highlights.
Speaking about his return to Barcelona in 2009, Pique said: "That was a dream come true. I left when I was 17 and came back at 21, and I still had a long career ahead of me. It was a key step in staying here, working to build my career, and retiring here. I never imagined that so many things would happen later."
Pique said he would never forget Barcelona's 6-2 victory: "We achieved one of the most iconic results in the club's history, and I also scored one of my favorite goals at the Bernabeu in my first-ever El Clasico." Speaking about the 5-0 match, he said: "That was a heavy blow to their expectations for the season."
Speaking about Puyol, Pique said: "He welcomed me with open arms, and we had a great relationship from the beginning. We worked very well together and were an excellent center-back partnership. If not for his injuries, we could have played alongside each other for many more years."
Speaking about his connection with Barcelona, Pique said: "When I was born, my grandfather made me a Barcelona member. He passed this love and the Barcelona spirit on to me, and my whole family are loyal Barcelona fans."
Pique concluded: "The environment provides a lot of help, and family is the key to achieving success and having a long and successful career. You will experience good times and difficult times, and having people around you who help and accompany you every day is very important. My family helped me achieve many goals."
