Catanzaro Director: Cissé Can Become Milan's Leader and Will Soon Be Called Up to the National Team

Catanzaro director Ciro Polito believes Alphadjo Cissé can become a leader for Milan.

Alphadjo Cissé has been AC Milan's biggest surprise at the start of the season, having scored two goals in the first three Serie A rounds. Polito was the person who discovered and developed the Treviso attacking player, and he said: “Alphadjo is an extraordinary player. At Catanzaro, both in matches and training sessions, I saw him do incredible things, so I am not surprised by the top-level performances he has produced at AC Milan. The only possible question was how well he would recover from his injury, but Cissé is in very good form now. He can become a leader of the Rossoneri. He will soon be called up to the national team.”

Polito also described the transfer process that saw Cissé join AC Milan in January last year: “We had already reached an agreement with PSV, but later the Rossoneri intervened. At that time, the young player preferred to go to AC Milan, and we accepted it because this meant he would remain at Catanzaro until the end of the season. Unfortunately, he got injured soon after. Otherwise, with him in the squad, we could have pushed even higher.”
