Liverpool Tracking Bournemouth Forward Rayan: £130m Release Clause, Iraola a 'Super Fan'

Liverpool fans may be interested in news concerning Bournemouth forward Rayan: his contract contains a £130 million release clause that will become active next summer.

The young Brazilian attacker has impressed since joining the Cherries and looks like a strong candidate to become Bournemouth's next high-value sale. Bournemouth have been highly successful in selling major players in recent years, having already profited from players such as Antoine Semenyo and Dean Huijsen.

Release clause to be activated next summer

According to David Ornstein in The Athletic, Rayan is worth keeping an eye on because his release clause will become active next summer. Rayan looks like a promising player who could potentially move to one of the Premier League's 'big six' clubs sooner rather than later.

Liverpool were linked with Rayan during the summer transfer window, and iNews reported that Andoni Iraola is a 'super fan' of the 20-year-old, with the two having previously worked together at Bournemouth.

Able to play in multiple attacking positions

Rayan can operate in several attacking roles, so he could be useful to Liverpool as they look to rebuild and adjust their squad following Mohamed Salah's departure. Bradley Barcola has already provided Liverpool with a new option on the left, while if Iraola were to bring in Rayan, he could also gain an option on the right.

The deal clearly would not be easy, nor would it be cheap. But Liverpool have recently shown a willingness to spend heavily, breaking their club transfer record twice last summer when they signed Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak in succession. Barcola was also a high-value signing this year, so if Liverpool really want Rayan, a £130 million release clause may not necessarily seem excessive.

However, it is easy to imagine that other major clubs could also become interested if the young South American continues to perform at a high level.
