Rodri said at the time: "They are weak, these guys are really weak. Too weak, mate." A while later, he added: "They are poor, mate, really poor."

After the comments spread, they may have caused displeasure in Valencia's dressing room, but Rodri had no intention of offending the opponent. He was simply having a casual conversation with Cubarsí and did not expect the exchange to be recorded and revealed by television cameras.
