In Real Madrid's Champions League opening-round match against Inter Milan, Real Madrid star Vinicius was booed by the home crowd when he was substituted. Caras believes this was not just a reaction to a poor performance, but the eruption of a crisis that had quietly developed throughout the summer.

Caras said that until 24 hours before Real Madrid's final offer, people around Vinicius still believed he would leave Real Madrid. They originally thought Vinicius would join Arsenal because the amount they offered was a figure that Real Madrid had previously not believed it would pay.

Caras said: “Suddenly, at the last moment, Real Madrid produced an offer that surprised everyone, and everything changed. When you think you are going to leave a club but then suddenly stay, your thoughts can also change. It is not easy psychologically.”

Caras believes the boos directed at Vinicius at the Bernabeu in the Champions League opener were too harsh and unjustified. He said: “The match against Inter Milan was not a game in which Vinicius should have been booed. Real Madrid as a whole did not play well. Yes, he missed two chances, but he provided three assists and created the conditions for goals by Ibrahim, Mbappe and Bellingham.”

Caras also pointed out that Vinicius' physical condition was not at his best after the World Cup. He said: “These matches are more like a preparation period for him. Barcelona will control Rodri's playing time, while Vinicius starts and has played almost every minute.”

Caras said: “A large part of Real Madrid fans have already developed dislike toward him, and it seems irreversible. The reason this relationship has deteriorated is that the issue goes far beyond what happens on the pitch itself.”

He added: “Vinicius must deliver his best performance in every match, otherwise he will be booed. He has already become the favorite enemy of Bernabeu fans.”

Caras continued: “He does not need to change anything, because none of this was caused by him. Perhaps the fans should also contribute. Booing your own player in the fourth match of the season does not help Real Madrid in any way.”

Caras revealed that Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Vinicius on a contract extension until 2032. He believes Vinicius' real test will be the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid on September 20.
