Palmer: Alonso asked us to raise intensity at halftime, the first half was a bit flat

On September 10 Beijing time, Chelsea defeated Leeds United 6-3 in the third round of the EFL Cup. After the match, Palmer spoke to Sky Sports about the demands Xabi Alonso made to the team during halftime and his feelings about playing for the current Chelsea side.
Speaking about what head coach Xabi Alonso said at halftime, Palmer said: "We needed to raise the intensity of the game. We felt the first half was a bit flat, so we increased the pace afterwards."
Speaking about playing for the current Chelsea team, Palmer said: "I'm really enjoying it. The team has so many attacking players, and it is very different for us compared with before. I think there are still some areas where we need to keep improving, but being able to get the results we want now is the most important thing."
