Maresca's persistence with Enzo Fernandez is difficult to understand. The harsh reality is that the club spent a record £125 million fee to sign him, and Maresca would effectively be bringing endless problems to Manchester City's doorstep.

Enzo is by no means a reserved person; he can hardly be described as calm, appropriate, or elegant. A few weeks ago, after Argentina defeated England in the World Cup semifinal, Enzo publicly mocked England.

After the match, he posted a photo on social media of himself, Messi, and Paredes laughing, with Oasis's song "Wonderwall" playing in the background—the song was a support anthem for England fans during that World Cup. He earned a high salary in the English league but publicly mocked the country, which was considered highly disrespectful.

In the World Cup final, Enzo became the first player since 2010 to receive a red card and be sent off in a World Cup final. Before leaving the pitch, he also kicked a microphone near the sideline.

One should show grace in victory and composure in defeat. Unfortunately, Enzo has failed to demonstrate either.

After returning to Chelsea for the new season, his various actions clearly suggested that he did not want to remain at Stamford Bridge. He had previously been linked with Real Madrid and then quickly became interested in Manchester City, which was intriguing.

He has never truly helped Chelsea compete for championships. The team finished 10th in the league last season and sixth the season before that, and its highest league position never came within 15 points of the top spot.

However, when surrounded by sufficiently strong teammates, he can produce performances that look impressive, as the Argentina national team has shown. Perhaps this is what Maresca sees in him and why he is so interested.

But he should have stayed far away from Enzo rather than welcoming him to Manchester. Taking over from Guardiola is already an extremely difficult task, and spending a huge amount of money on a player who repeatedly creates controversy adds another gamble.

Now, Enzo needs to deliver consistent performances, demonstrate proper emotional control, and help Manchester City challenge for major trophies again.

As a devout Christian, he needs to show a positive side both on and off the pitch and answer all his critics through his performances.

But for now, it is difficult not to feel that the problems brought by Enzo have already overshadowed his own value. Frankly, he does not appear to justify the huge transfer fee paid for him by this wealthy Premier League club.
