Official: Dinamo Zagreb loan Qadsiah winger Almena, contract includes purchase option

On September 4, Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb officially announced that they had signed Spanish young winger Iker Almena on loan. The player will join from Saudi club Qadsiah, with the contract including a purchase option. His arrival will further strengthen the team's attacking competitiveness.

Almena is a versatile player. In addition to playing as a winger, he has also featured as a midfielder during his career. When needed, he can even fill in as a left-back. In attack, Almena can operate on both flanks and can also play as a center forward or attacking midfielder according to the team's needs.

Almena was born on May 4, 2004, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat near Barcelona. He initially received football training at local club Cornellà before joining Barcelona's youth academy La Masia, where he spent six years.

In the summer of 2022, Almena joined Girona, making appearances for the club's youth team and reserve side, while also being included in the first-team squad on multiple occasions.

In the 2024-25 season, Almena moved to Saudi Arabia to play for Qadsiah. He later joined Hajduk Split on loan from the Split-based club and spent a season there.

During his time with Hajduk Split, Almena made 23 appearances in all competitions and scored 4 goals.

It is worth noting that after joining Dinamo Zagreb, Almena will become the 44th player in history to have represented both Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split in official matches.

With the arrival of this young attacker, Dinamo Zagreb hopes he can use his ability to play in multiple positions to further diversify the team's attacking options, while his wing dribbling, speed and attacking ability can help improve the competitiveness of the team's forward line.
