Official: Hull City Agree Contract Termination with Winger Akintola, Player Joins Nicosia Union

Hull City officially announced that David Akintola's contract has been terminated by mutual agreement, allowing him to complete a permanent transfer to Cypriot club Nicosia Union.

The Nigerian winger joined Hull City from Turkish Super Lig club Caykur Rizespor in August 2025. In the 2025/26 season, he made 21 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

The 30-year-old made his Hull City debut as a substitute in the home 3-2 win over Oxford United in August 2025. He then played a role throughout the season, helping the Tigers successfully earn promotion to the Premier League.

Akintola previously played for Turkish clubs Adana Demirspor and Hatayspor, as well as clubs in Norway and Cyprus. He also represented Hull City in the FA Cup and League Cup.

We thank David for his efforts during his time at MKM Stadium and wish him all the best for the future.
