Lazio Director: Fan Boycott and Protest Issue Should Be Resolved Through Dialogue

Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani said at a press conference that all parties should resolve the issue of fans refusing to enter the stadium as a form of protest through dialogue.

Although the team is currently top of the standings, Lazio supporters have still chosen not to enter the Stadio Olimpico in Rome to watch home matches, and said they may continue to be absent for next Saturday's match against Milan.

Fabiani said: "There is an issue in front of us right now, and it will have to be resolved sooner or later. Everyone needs to think together and find a compromise. Football is beautiful because of the fans. Without them, matches are not easy, and we miss them very much. The fans have made this decision, we respect it, and we will always do our best. Mediation is needed now; this is an issue that must be faced."

He continued: "This is not good for anyone, and confrontation will not solve the problem. I believe President Lotito does not want to see this situation either. When I say that everyone should take a step back, I mean that all sides should engage in dialogue and communication to find a compromise."

Fabiani added: "Have I spoken with Lotito? That is not my responsibility. Sometimes it is necessary to stop and think about whether the problem can be solved. This matter must be addressed, but it is the president's responsibility. I can only ask the fans to come to the stadium because the players need them. Seeing the fans is the most beautiful thing. Everyone should think about this. In my opinion, this situation is absurd. However, whether there are fans or not, we must continue moving forward."
