Huijsen appears to have already been impressed by his partnership with Konate at Real Madrid. The two started together as center-backs in the Champions League match where Real Madrid defeated Inter Milan 2-1. They are still continuing to get familiar with each other, but the Spanish player had plenty of praise for his new teammate after the match.

"He is a beast. He is very strong defensively, very good with the ball at his feet, and his tackling and distribution are excellent... I think we work very well together," Huijsen said. Konate, who joined from Liverpool on a free transfer this summer, quickly secured a place in Mourinho's defensive line, and he has now formed one of the most anticipated center-back partnerships of the season with the former Bournemouth player.
However, the pair's Champions League season debut was not an easy one. Inter Milan controlled the game for long periods and created several dangerous chances, especially forcing Courtois into several key saves. Real Madrid eventually took the lead quickly thanks to two mistakes from their opponents, with Mbappe and Valverde scoring in succession, while Carlos Augusto pulled one back late in the match. Although Real Madrid's overall performance was not ideal, Huijsen is already satisfied with his partnership with Konate, and the center-back pairing is expected to play an important role for Real Madrid this season.
