Fiorentina forward Pellegrino: A poor start, but give us time and trust

According to TuttoMercato, Fiorentina have had a difficult start, with the team coached by Grosso suffering defeats in the first two league rounds. Forward Pellegrino said the team will not be afraid because of this.

Fiorentina lost to Roma in the first league round and then suffered a home defeat against Frosinone in the second round, conceding seven goals across the two matches. Mateo Pellegrino said in an interview with that day's edition of Corriere dello Sport: "This will not make us afraid. Unfortunately, we had a poor start, and we are disappointed, especially because of the defeat on the centenary day, which we will always remember. But we are not like this; we have just started a journey. Please give us some time and trust."

Speaking about the team's signings and outside expectations, Pellegrino said: "Of course we also hoped to start the league in a different way, but now we can only work harder and keep our heads down. Personally, I am happy and highly motivated; I want to prove my ability. Everything is in place here for us to train in the best possible way, and you only need to look at our training facilities to know that. Overall, the whole team and I are disappointed, but now we have to focus on the mistakes we have made and continue improving from tomorrow."

Finally, Pellegrino explained why he chose Fiorentina: "Because they really wanted me, and I also felt this was the right project for me. I want to stay in Italy, and I know this could be a major opportunity for me."
