Lautaro Responds to Transfer Rumors: I Am Happy at Inter and Want to Stay and Do Better

Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez has responded to recent transfer rumors, making it clear that he is willing to stay at his current club.

Since joining Inter in 2018, the Argentina international has spent most of his career with the Nerazzurri and has scored 175 goals in 378 appearances for the club so far.

Despite this, there has still been some uncertainty surrounding his future this summer. The Daily Mail recently reported that Arsenal coach Gabriel Heinze had contacted his compatriot to discuss the possibility of a transfer.

Martinez has also been linked with Barcelona, and he was asked about the matter by Sky Sport Italia while attending an awards ceremony.

"Barcelona's interest? It is an honor for me, but I already know clearly what is in my heart. My life is in Milan now. I choose to stay at Inter because I feel very good here. I want to stay and do better," Martinez said.

The 29-year-old, after enjoying an outstanding Serie A career, could have been an ideal option for several top clubs this summer, especially after scoring 22 goals last season.

Barcelona eventually chose to sign Jesus from Arsenal, while Arsenal remained relatively quiet before the transfer window closed and made no changes to their attacking options.

It remains to be seen whether they will regret that decision, but perhaps they will reassess the situation in January next year, which could prove wiser than making a rushed move for a player like Martinez late in the summer window.
