The Manchester Evening News reports that Manchester United’s strong protest appears to have worked, with the Premier League set to make a major adjustment under pressure, which is expected to be officially announced on Thursday.
It now appears that their appeal has been answered. The Premier League will announce the late-December schedule on Thursday, more than a month earlier than the confirmation date last year.
Originally, all matches were scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. on Saturday, but the Premier League and broadcasters have the right to alter the schedule after deciding which matches will be televised. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United officials met with Premier League executives and urged them to finalize the schedule earlier so that fans could book travel and accommodation as soon as possible.
