World Sport: Riquelme's Team Continues Operations, Sets Sights on Real Madrid's 2030 Election

According to Mundo Deportivo, Riquelme's election team has still not disbanded nearly two months after its defeat, continuing to follow Real Madrid's daily affairs and looking ahead to the club's 2030 presidential election.

On September 7, Florentino was elected Real Madrid president and will have completed nearly two months of his successful re-election. A total of club member voters participated in the vote that day, with Florentino receiving 21,741 votes, accounting for 65% of the total; the other candidate, Enrique Riquelme, received 11,814 votes, accounting for 35%.

Nearly two months later, Enrique Riquelme's election team has not disbanded and has continued its work, following everything happening in the daily operations of Real Madrid.

According to the newspaper, Riquelme's team has recently studied how Florentino handled similar situations during his presidency, including the case in June when Real Madrid failed to win any trophies for two consecutive seasons.

The study found that since becoming president in 2000, Florentino's response in similar situations has been largely the same, with the head coach always being the person who bears the greatest responsibility. In the past two seasons, Carlo Ancelotti was not dismissed, while Xabi Alonso and his successor Arbeloa were dismissed, despite Arbeloa signing a three-year contract when he took charge in January this year.

There were also previous cases involving Carlos Queiroz, José Antonio Camacho, Luxemburgo, Mariano García Remón and Manuel Pellegrini.

As Riquelme previously stated clearly, they will not stop working and will focus on 2030, when the club will need to hold a new presidential election.
