Less Than a Day After Contract Termination! 29-Year-Old Foreign Player Announces New Club, Thanks Shanghai Shenhua on Social Media but Misspells Team Name

On September 8 Beijing time, Brazilian club Ceara officially announced that 29-year-old forward Shao-Luo Mineiro, who had just terminated his contract with Shanghai Shenhua, had officially returned to the team. The two sides signed a contract until the end of this season. Just one day earlier, Shenhua had announced the early termination of their agreement with Mineiro. However, in less than 24 hours, he quickly found a new club, marking his third return to his former club Ceara.

Mineiro previously made 109 appearances for Ceara and scored 26 goals. His first spell with the club came in 2020, when he played 49 matches for the first team and scored 12 goals, before transferring to Yokohama FC in 2021. In 2023, he returned to Ceara again, making 60 appearances and scoring 14 goals during his second spell, helping the team win a state league title and secure promotion to the Brazilian Serie A.

At the end of 2024, Mineiro transferred from Ceara to Shanghai Shenhua. During his Shenhua career, he featured in 34 official matches and scored 14 goals in total. According to Brazilian media reports, after terminating his contract with Shenhua, Mineiro was eager to return to Ceara and even made significant concessions regarding financial interests to achieve that goal. Although other Brazilian clubs showed strong interest in him, he chose Ceara as his preferred destination without hesitation.

After returning to his former club, he happily expressed his gratitude to Shenhua on social media and thanked the club for the contract termination. In his post, he wrote: "Thank you, Shenhua. I am very happy to have played here." However, an amusing detail was that despite spending a year and a half at Shenhua, he still misspelled the club's name on social media. This may suggest that he did not develop a particularly deep sense of belonging with the Chinese Super League club.
