According to Greece's Athens-Macedonian News Agency, after suddenly collapsing during Dortmund's Champions League match against Villarreal, 18-year-old Greek midfielder Konstantinos Karesas remains under close observation. Dortmund have decided not to take risks by allowing him to play in this weekend's match.

Dortmund sporting director Ole Buch provided an update on Karesas' physical condition on September 10. He said the club must first ensure there are no health concerns for the player before considering his return to matches.

Buch said: "Considering the current situation, Konstantinos Karesas is doing well now. He is still undergoing further examinations, and we hope to find out exactly what happened. It is very clear that our top priority is people's health and the player's health. He will not play this weekend."

Karesas previously collapsed suddenly during Dortmund's Champions League match against Villarreal and was substituted due to his physical condition. The club has not yet announced specific results from further examinations.
