De Bruyne: Arsenal Are the Best Team in the World Right Now, We Know How Strong They Are

According to Goal, Napoli star Kevin De Bruyne said Arsenal are the "best team in the world." The comment came after Arsenal defeated Napoli 1-0 in the Champions League.

On Wednesday night, Arsenal played their opening Champions League match in Italy and secured a 1-0 victory through a goal from captain Martin Odegaard.

Last season, Arsenal won the Premier League title for the first time since 2004 and also reached the Champions League final, but ultimately lost to Paris Saint-Germain in a penalty shootout. Mikel Arteta's team appears capable of competing in both competitions again this season, and after beating Napoli, the team has started the campaign with five consecutive wins.

Despite failing to get a positive result, De Bruyne still believes Napoli's performance in their first European match was "already very good" considering Arsenal's strength.

Speaking to CBS Sports, De Bruyne responded: "I agree. They are the English champions, and they lost the last Champions League final on penalties, so we know how strong they are."

De Bruyne continued: "I think we played quite well. When we tried to build attacks, we had some moments where we created chances, and of course sometimes we had to drop back. In the second half, we gave them many opportunities and dropped too deep."

De Bruyne concluded: "But after that we had some good moments again. I think this was an improvement compared with what I saw in the previous few matches. We are starting to play better, and that is a good thing."
