Dortmund Official: Karetsas Is Currently Doing Fine, Will Not Play This Weekend

Dortmund officially announced that young player Karetsas, who came off injured during the Champions League match, is currently doing fine. However, he will not play in the league this weekend. Dortmund director Ole Buke spoke about Karetsas' health condition on Thursday, saying, "Further examinations are still being carried out. We want to get to the bottom of this matter."

Only after the further examinations are completed will the club make more assessments regarding the condition of the 18-year-old player. However, Dortmund sporting director emphasized: "Obviously, we must put the person's health and the player's health first. He will not play this weekend."

Karetsas made his first appearance for Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night in the Champions League home match against Villarreal. Around the middle of the first half, the 18-year-old player suddenly experienced blood circulation discomfort and was substituted in the 27th minute.
