Major Move! Liverpool Officially Announce Barcola Signing, Total Transfer Fee Up to €145 Million

On August 31 Beijing time, Liverpool Football Club officially announced today that they have signed 23-year-old French winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. The player has passed his medical and completed all transfer procedures, and will wear the No. 29 shirt for the Reds.

According to the official announcement and confirmation from authoritative transfer journalists, the total value of the deal can reach up to €145 million, including a fixed fee of €125 million and up to €20 million in add-ons (linked to appearances, team honours and personal statistics). Converted according to the exchange rate, the fee is approximately £123 million (£106 million fixed fee + £17 million add-ons). This price places Barcola among the most expensive signings in Liverpool's history and makes the deal one of the marquee transfers of the 2026 summer window worldwide.

Barcola wore the No. 29 shirt during his time at Paris Saint-Germain, and he will continue with the same number at Anfield. In an interview with Liverpool's official website, he expressed his excitement: “I am extremely proud to play for Liverpool. This has taken a long time, but today I am really very happy. The only thing I want now is to step onto the pitch. I hope to win the Premier League title, which has been one of my dreams since I was a child, and I also hope to leave a long-lasting mark at this club.”

Barcola came through Lyon's academy and joined Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023 for around €45 million. During his three seasons at the Parc des Princes, he made 152 appearances in all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 35 assists (some statistics list 37 assists). He won 13 trophies with the team, including three Ligue 1 titles and two Champions League titles, and gradually developed into a key left-sided player for the France national team.
