TA: Real Madrid Set to Renew Arda Guler's Contract, Viewing Him and Bellingham as Future Cores

According to the latest report from The Athletic, Arda Guler is close to renewing his contract with Real Madrid, with the club viewing him and Bellingham as core players.

Guler's current contract is reportedly set to expire in the summer of 2029. However, sources familiar with the situation confirmed that the two sides have reached a principle agreement on a new contract, which will extend his deal until 2032.

Both Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa trusted him during their respective spells as Real Madrid head coach. Mourinho is currently continuing this approach, starting Guler in three of Real Madrid's first four La Liga matches.

Mourinho also appears to have seen another side of his game. He recently said that he believes Guler could perhaps take on an organizer role "maybe not now, but after some time," allowing him to show his creativity in addition to his current role as a more advanced midfielder.

Real Madrid's senior management had already explained this summer why the club did not invest more heavily in midfield. They view players such as Bellingham and Guler as future core members of the team. From this perspective, the new contract is both a reward for Guler's progress and recognition of the importance he has earned.
