Real Sociedad full-back Aramburu: Four points from four games is too few; Hector Fort can provide help

Real Sociedad full-back Aramburu believes the new regulations are not clear enough and said that the team’s four points from the opening of the league season are too few.

Speaking about the 0-0 home draw against Celta Vigo, Aramburu said: “It feels a bit bitter because in home matches you always want to get three points. The opponent usually plays in a very direct way, and we also wanted to get three points. We played better in the first half and created chances against their low defensive block. In the second half, the physical demands began to show and it became harder for us, but this one point still feels insufficient. We need to turn it into three points in the next match.”

Aramburu believes the hot weather and a schedule of playing every three days made the team more tired in the second half, but this cannot be an excuse and the team must adapt to such a schedule. He also spoke about Gudelj’s suspected penalty incident involving a pull: “I was far away, but my teammates said there was a pull. Situations inside the penalty area are not easy to see clearly, but it has already happened and we cannot change the referee’s decision.”

Regarding the team keeping a clean sheet in this match, Aramburu said: “The coach also said that we have to take some positive things away from the match. This game finally gave us the clean sheet that we had failed to keep in the previous matches. It is a shame that we did not score, but if we continue keeping clean sheets like this, I think we will get many points.”

Aramburu believes that four points from the opening four league matches is indeed too few, but the season has only just started and Real Sociedad will try to win the next match. Regarding the new regulations, he said he does not fully understand them either: “Oyarzabal said this new rule has gone a bit too far because many situations are not clear. In my case, it was because I collided while contesting a header. Later I felt that I got back up quickly, but I was still asked to leave the field. That minute really affected us. To be honest, I do not understand it either. I hope the rules will become clearer as more matches are played.”

Speaking about the competition with Hector Fort, Aramburu said: “It is not about who starts and who does not start. I think both of us will get plenty of playing time. He came here to help the team. I believe that throughout the season we will both get many minutes because the team needs us. This kind of competition is a good thing.”

Aramburu also said that Hector Fort comes from Barcelona, has strong ability, and can provide help to the team. Regarding Monday’s match against Elche, he said the team’s goal is to win because they believe they have earned too few points at the start of the league season. Speaking about Rino being absent from the substitutes’ bench, he said he did not pay much attention to the bench, but the people there helping the team performed well, and perhaps the only thing missing was Rino’s usual shouting.
