Liverpool Close to Signing PSG's Barcola, Transfer Fee Reportedly Exceeds €140 Million

On August 27 Beijing time, according to multiple media reports, Liverpool's move to sign Paris Saint-Germain French winger Bradley Barcola is finally nearing completion after a long transfer saga. Liverpool have reached a principle agreement with PSG over the signing of Barcola, and reports state that the attainable total value of the deal will exceed €140 million (£120 million).

The transfer fee is reportedly structured as a fixed amount of more than £100 million plus £20 million in add-ons. This figure has been independently confirmed by several transfer reporters.

The Athletic reported that the two clubs have finally reached an agreement on the deal, with both sides working on important final details on Thursday morning local time. German outlet Sky Sport stated that the transfer is "only waiting for details to be finalized; it could be completed within hours or take several days. Barcola is ready to undergo a medical, and his full agreement with Liverpool was already reached several weeks ago."

Fabrizio Romano's report was similar, saying that negotiations between the two sides have entered the final stage and that a final agreement is expected soon. The transfer reporter previously noted that the deal was not only a negotiation between the transfer market officials of the two clubs; PSG president Nasser, Liverpool owner John Henry from Fenway Sports Group, and even the consortium that recently acquired a stake in the Reds were involved in the discussions.

According to further reports, Barcola will not be Liverpool's only remaining signing this summer. The club are still pursuing a right winger, with previous targets ranging from a package deal involving Mbaye to Brighton's Minteh, but those moves have become less likely due to high asking prices. The closest option at present is Crystal Palace's Ismaïla Sarr, although the potential transfer has faced criticism from some Liverpool supporters because the player is already 28 years old.
