Firm stance! Atletico Madrid: Board unanimously supports decision not to negotiate Alvarez transfer with Barcelona

On August 27 Beijing time, Atletico Madrid officially released a statement today, using firm wording to say that the board members unanimously support the decision not to negotiate with Barcelona over Alvarez's transfer.

Full text of Atletico Madrid's official statement:

The members of Atletico Madrid's board of directors unanimously stated: We fully support the club's decision not to negotiate with FC Barcelona regarding the transfer of Julian Alvarez.

The board members stated: Atletico Madrid has always remained open to normal negotiations in the transfer market, but everything must be based on ethics and professionalism, with mutual respect between clubs as a prerequisite. We fully support the position previously expressed by the club that FC Barcelona has not met these requirements. Therefore, we have never held any negotiations with them regarding the transfer of Julian Alvarez, and we will not conduct any negotiations in the future.

Atletico Madrid firmly believes that our player will understand the club's decision and will focus on working in the best possible condition to help the club achieve its established goals — just as he has done while wearing the red-and-white jersey over the past two seasons.
