Sagna: Arsenal to win the title, Cazorla was the best teammate

Former Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna has publicly backed his former club to lift the Premier League trophy again this season. In a podcast appearance, the Frenchman not only predicted the title winner but also made a notable choice, saying the best teammate he had in his career was not Kevin De Bruyne or Robin van Persie, but Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla.

Sagna made the comments while appearing on the Italian Football Podcast. In a quick-fire segment, when asked who would win this season's Premier League title, he gave a straightforward answer: "Arsenal." When asked about the best teammate of his career, his response was equally concise: "Santi Cazorla."

The choice attracted attention because Sagna's career history is impressive. During his time at Arsenal, he played alongside top attacking players such as Mesut Ozil and Van Persie; after moving to Manchester City, he shared a dressing room with players including De Bruyne, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero. Among so many elite players, he chose Cazorla, showing the importance the Spanish midfielder held for him.

Sagna on Fabregas: Could manage Barcelona in the future

Another topic that drew attention during the program was Sagna's view on his former teammate Cesc Fabregas' coaching prospects. Fabregas is currently managing Italian Serie A side Como and has produced impressive results with the team. Sagna believes the former Arsenal midfielder has already shown the potential to become a top-level coach.

"I think Fabregas is doing very well. He deserves the title of coach of the season because he had just received this award last night," Sagna said on the program.

Regarding Fabregas' next step, Sagna gave his own view: "I think he will stay at Como until he sees his direction clearly. When Hans-Dieter Flick leaves Barcelona, Barcelona will be an option for him. That is probably also why he has Arsenal as a target, because it is the club he loves. But these are the only two clubs I can see him joining."

Sagna further explained: "So he will remain patient. He is comfortable at Como, he is respected, he has the love of the fans, and the working environment is calm. But I think when Flick leaves Barcelona, he will join Barcelona. He is just being patient, he is learning and continuing to grow as a coach."
