Brighton boss: Minteh could join Liverpool in the next transfer window

Brighton head coach Hurzeler revealed that Liverpool target Yankuba Minteh could move to Anfield in January next year.

Liverpool failed to complete a replacement signing for recently departed club legend Mohamed Salah on transfer deadline day. Arne Slot's team brought in Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola in attack, but neither is a natural right winger. Brighton's head coach has now revealed that if Minteh and the team achieve success, he could complete a transfer in the next window.

Liverpool were also interested in Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr, but that deal also failed to materialize, and Sarr needs time to recover emotionally.

Veteran attacker Cody Gakpo was closely linked with Manchester City in the final days of the transfer window, but the Reds chose to keep the winger to provide additional cover on the right side.

At the pre-match press conference ahead of Brighton's game against Leeds United this weekend, Hurzeler revealed that Minteh could complete a transfer in January.

"Minteh is wearing the Brighton shirt, the Brighton badge, and he has been here for two years," Hurzeler said. "We have achieved very good things together. So now it is also his turn to make a commitment."

"We always say that we want the club to be successful, but at the same time, individuals can also shine. If we achieve things together, then attention will naturally come to these players."

"This season will be like that. If the whole team achieves success, then Yankuba may be able to realize his dream in the next transfer window."
