Mundo Deportivo: Jonathan Tah's cousin joins Barcelona youth team, physical build surprises La Masia

According to Mundo Deportivo, 16-year-old German centre-back Mikael Baza has joined Barcelona's youth team from Hamburg, and his height and physical attributes have already drawn attention at La Masia.

Mikael Baza is 1.93 metres tall and left a deep impression on La Masia as soon as he arrived. During his introduction, he even made Barcelona youth football director Jose Ramon Alexanko appear somewhat 'short'. Alexanko played as a centre-back during his career, stood 1.82 metres tall, and once used his height advantage as an additional forward during attacking set pieces.

Mikael Baza is the cousin of Bayern's 30-year-old centre-back Jonathan Tah, who is 1.95 metres tall. Considering that Baza is still in a stage of physical development, Tah's height could perhaps serve as a reference for his future growth. Both players are represented by Pini Zahavi's agency, which also represents Flick, although Barcelona and Tah's affairs are handled by Max Bielefeld.

Bielefeld had previously posted a photo on social media showing a meeting between Barcelona and Flick at the club's facilities in Barcelona. Baza has previously been selected for Germany's youth national teams at various levels, while Tah is a regular member of the senior Germany national team. Barcelona has high hopes for the young centre-back's development.
